Native American Cultural Weekend

Experience the Native American traditions and cultures connected to the Cuyahoga Valley, past, present, and future! 

For thousands of years, the Cuyahoga Valley has been home to diverse indigenous peoples. This weekend of programs will highlight the rich histories and cultures of Native peoples from our region and the state of Ohio, both past and present. Join cultural educators from Native nations connected to the Cuyahoga Valley for engaging and informative stories, presentations, and demonstrations and learn more about the history and archaeology of the Cuyahoga Valley.

Maple Sugar Festival & Pancake Breakfast

Enjoy a hearty pancake breakfast and then head out into the Sugaring Camp to learn about tree tapping, the maple sugar process and experience oxen demonstrations. View period arts and crafts such as glassblowing, blacksmithing, pottery and spinning and weaving.

Music in the Valley Folk & Wine Festival

Presented in partnership with Folknet, Music in the Valley Folk & Wine Festival is an opportunity to enjoy local musicians playing their banjos, guitars, and fiddles. Guests are welcome to stop and listen to the musicians as they tour the grounds, and can enjoy tasting wines from select Ohio based wineries.

Civil War Weekend

Travel back in time and interact with the soldiers, cavalry and civilians of the 1860’s throughout our reenactor camps. Hear the stories of both free and enslaved peoples through first-person interpretations, and tour our historic sites for immersive experiences of the daily lives and concerns of Northeast Ohioans during the Civil War era. In addition, Hale Farm’s artisans and tradesmen will be onsite to demonstrate historic glassblowing, blacksmithing, and pottery throwing throughout the weekend!

Made In Ohio Art & Craft Festival

This event has become a favorite of the community over Labor Day Weekend, as guests visit our historic trades, stroll through historic buildings and shop from the 200+ vendors throughout the grounds. Vendors include jewelry artists, potters, carvers, glass artists, soap and lotion makers, quilters and a variety of unique crafters. You will be amazed at the variety of the vendors and the one-of-a-kind finds! In addition, we have a variety of food vendors and local wines and beers.

Additional entertainment over the weekend includes Ohio musicians, magicians and storytellers.

Harvest Festival

The annual Harvest Festival is a fall tradition over two weekends in October. Celebrate the fall bounty amid the sights, smells and tastes of the Cuyahoga Valley.

Café 1810 will be open serving a seasonal menu, apple cider, cold drinks, beer & wine. The MarketPlace at Hale Farm & Village will be open and featuring handmade at Hale glass pumpkins and other Ohio made favorites.

Holiday Lantern Tours

Explore how holiday traditions have transformed over time during this candle-lit tour of Hale Farm & Village. Experience the anticipation of the holiday season as you visit different families throughout the decades of the 19th century and become a part of their historic festivities. After your tour on our picturesque grounds, guests will have a sweet treat to end their evening.
