Surrounded by the beauty of the Cuyahoga Valley National Park, Hale Farm & Village offers limitless photography and film location opportunities. Let Hale Farm & Village be the backdrop for your wedding, engagement, senior, or family photos; or perhaps utilize our grounds and historic structures as the setting for your short film.


Rustic barns, antique furniture, homey porches, cobblestone chimneys, lush gardens, pastures, and wooded areas – the sky is the limit at Hale Farm & Village. We have been known to accommodate commercial photography shoots and large scale film sets as well.* Look closely and you may recognize the living history museum in magazines, documentaries, commercials, and even feature films.

1-Hour Session$150 + tax
2-Hour Session$250 + tax

Grounds & Building Access

Indoor Building Photo Access$50 + tax/building
Indoor & Outdoor Full Photo Access$400 + tax


The grounds at Hale Farm & Village are available for rent Monday – Sunday, and are usually arranged after public hours (10:00am - 5:00pm). Times of availability vary depending on the seasonal calendar and public museum programs already scheduled. Exceptions can be made for specific photo/videography purposes. Sessions grant the renter free outdoor access of all 90 acres of the historic grounds, with indoor access available upon request and for a small fee. Dressing room locations and golf cart rentals are available upon request.

Staff & Security

HFV Rentals Staff are required to be present at all film and photo shoots on site. HFV Rentals Staff will oversee all grounds and facilities in use and help to guide renters across the site.

Props & Equipment

All props and/or equipment being brought to the premises for filming or photo shoot purposes must be approved by the HFV Rentals Manager and/or HFV Director. The renter may not move items belonging to Hale Farm & Village. No tacks, staples, or tape are permitted to be affixed to any surfaces. The renter is responsible for any and all set-up and tear-down of items used at their session.

Payment Policies

A 50% nonrefundable deposit is required to hold the space and date, with the balance due no later than 30 days prior to the shoot. Facility and staffing fees do not include catering costs.

Western Reserve Historical Society is the oldest cultural institution in Northeast Ohio, the region's largest American history research center, and one of the leading genealogical research centers in the nation.
