Carriage Pavilion Hale Farm & Village

Perched on a hill just behind the Meetinghouse, the open-air Carriage Pavilion offers sweeping views of Hale Farm & Village’s historic East Side. With its rustic charm and relaxed atmosphere, it’s an ideal setting for an outdoor reception, social gathering, meeting, or corporate retreat where fresh air and history set the scene.

The Carriage Pavilion at Hale Farm & Village is a charming three-sided, open-air venue set atop a scenic hill overlooking the historic East Side village, offering rustic appeal with modern convenience. Enclosed on three sides and equipped with electricity and two restrooms, this versatile space invites creativity with the front yard perfect for tents, lawn games, a bonfire, or an outdoor dance floor that brings your celebration to life. 

Designed to accommodate up to 120 guests using the provided wooden picnic tables and benches, the Pavilion can seat up to 150 guests when additional chairs are brought in. 

Guests will appreciate free parking on the lawn behind the Pavilion, and like all Hale Farm & Village rental spaces, the Carriage Pavilion is available Monday through Sunday, during or after public hours (June–October, 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.). 

Preparation & Set-up

Preparation and set-up times are arranged not to interfere with the general public or museum staff. Weddings or receptions generally begin at 5:30pm with guests arriving at 5:00pm. Making your event memorable is important to us; decorations are permitted as long as no tacks, nails, staples, or tape are used. Please consult the HFV Rentals Manager for lighting and other decorating details.

Staff & Security

Members of the Hale Farm & Village rentals staff are present at all rentals. When serving alcohol, it is the responsibility of the rental client to schedule for an off-duty Bath police officer to be present and for the alcohol to be served by an approved bartender or caterer.

Catering & Alcohol

Hale Farm & Village works with a variety of approved, award-winning caterers and bartenders for you to choose from for your event. Alcoholic beverages are permitted for rentals; in accordance with the laws of the State of Ohio, alcohol on the East Side of Oak Hill Road may be provided by the renter.

Photography

Along with your rental, you and your photographer will have access to both the East and West Sides of Hale Farm & Village to capture one-of-a-kind outdoor photos throughout our scenic 90-acre property. Please note that during regular museum hours, the grounds and village may be open to the public, and other visitors may be present during your photography session.

If you wish to take photographs inside any of our 30+ historic buildings, an additional fee of $50 per building applies.

Payment Policies

A 50% nonrefundable deposit is required to hold the space and date, with the balance due no later than 30 days prior to the event along with a final walk through with the Rentals Manager.. Facility and staffing fees do not include catering costs.
