Through a collaboration with the Mandel Scholars and Tri-C, students worked with WRHS African American History Archivist Patrice Hamiter, and Chief Curator Eric Rivet, on a research project to help develop a museum exhibit using material from WRHS’s recent NAACP Cleveland Branch acquisition, and other already cataloged materials.
Details
The exhibit shows the legacy of the NAACP and how through their continued efforts, as they relate to Civil Rights, and social and political justice and activism have contributed to the agency of Black Americans everywhere.
This exhibit is a collaboration between the Western Reserve Historical Society and the Jack, Joseph and Morton Mandel Scholars Academy of Cuyahoga Community College. The objects in the exhibit were researched and the exhibit was designed by students in the program.
