Join us for a spooky, adults-only evening at the museum where history gets weird. Sip a themed drink from the bar, explore the galleries after hours, and uncover the legendary monsters and mysterious creatures said to haunt the Western Reserve. From centuries-old folklore to modern-day sightings, discover why these stories continue to captivate our imaginations.
Your general admission includes all of the experiences below, plus full access to the museum's exhibits throughout the evening.

The Naturalist Lab
Examine real biological specimens, skulls, and pelts alongside local experts as you explore the science behind some of Ohio's most famous cryptid sightings with a speaker from the North Chagrin Nature Center.
The Sighting Map
Add your own mysterious encounter to our interactive map and explore historic reports of legendary creatures, including the Lake Erie Serpent and the Peninsula Python.
The Talisman Apothecary
Create a historic-inspired protection pouch using traditional folk magic ingredients once believed to ward off spirits and unknown creatures lurking in the woods.

Cultural anthropologist and folklore researcher Alex Martinez takes you inside the fascinating world of cryptids and regional folklore. Explore the many types of mysterious creatures reported throughout Ohio, discover how legends take root and evolve over time, and learn what these enduring stories reveal about the communities that keep them alive.
