Foley Effects: Create the Sounds of Film

Saturday, May 2 | Time TBD | Cleveland History Center

Description:
Step into the world of sound in filmmaking! Families will experiment with foley techniques to create their own sound effects—everything from footsteps to creaking doors to cartoonish boings. Tap, shake, scrape, and layer everyday objects to hear how sounds transform a scene, then watch (and listen!) as your creations sync with short film clips. Drop in anytime to play and explore. Perfect for ages 5–105, it’s a hands-on celebration of creativity, invention, and the behind-the-scenes magic of movies. Designed for ages 5–105, this open-house program encourages experimentation, imagination, and a love for the hidden details that make films magical.
