Hale Farm & Village proudly presents the 28th season of Holiday Lantern Tours, a holiday tradition for people of all ages! Please join us for a charming, lantern-lit walking tour of Hale Farm & Village. Residents of the 19th century village welcome you into the warmth of their homes, delightfully decorated for the season. Experience holiday sights and sounds as celebrated in the 19th century Western Reserve. After, join us for sweet treats and holiday shopping in the Hale Farm & Village Gatehouse. Our museum store has something special for everyone on your list, including Hand Crafted at Hale Farm & Village hand-blown glass and pottery. Gift certificates are also available.

Holiday Lantern Tours depart every twenty minutes beginning at 5:20 p.m. Please dress appropriately for this indoor/outdoor activity. Tours last about 90 minutes.

With hearts full, we invite you to join us in supplying needs for some of our neighbors through two collection efforts during the month of December.

Akron’s Haven of Rest Ministries provides for the homeless and hungry; a small sample of needs includes pajama pants in adult sizes, twin-sized sheet sets, and personal care items. For more information and a specific list of items, please email halereservations@wrhs.org.

Hale Farm & Village will also be a collection site for socks for students of Akron Public Schools. With cold, damp weather, extra dry socks keep children playing outdoors and learning in comfort! All sizes, from youth through adult, are needed.

Visitors to Holiday Lantern Tours and MarketPlace shoppers will find collection bins located inside the entrance doors of the Gatehouse Welcome Center at Hale Farm & Village during posted program hours. Thank you!

Accessibility Information for Holiday Lantern Tours

The Holiday Lantern Tours involve a walk of approximately 0.85 miles along gravel pathways and grass surfaces. Pathways may be uneven and can become muddy during wet weather. Several sites on the tour require climbing 2-3 steps to enter, making these locations inaccessible to wheelchairs and strollers.

Please note that much of the tour takes place outdoors, so we encourage dressing appropriately for the weather. Tours proceed as scheduled in rain, snow, or shine.

All ticket sales are final. Tickets are non-refundable and cannot be transferred to different dates.

Western Reserve Historical Society is the oldest cultural institution in Northeast Ohio, the region's largest American history research center, and one of the leading genealogical research centers in the nation.
