For the 2023-2024 school year, the Cleveland History Center is excited to offer our Homeschool Field Trip series for the first time since 2020. Hosted at the Cleveland History Center in University Circle once a month on a Thursday, this year’s Homeschool Field Trip days invite students to dig in to the people, places, and ideas that have made Cleveland what it is today.
Event Details
Students will be grouped and paired with a Museum Educator based on their age (3-5, 6-8, 9-12, and 13+) to ensure age-appropriate program content based on the day’s theme. We reserve the right to combine age groups as needed based on day of attendance. Each program is from 10am-12pm on the day of the event.
April 18, 2024 – The Art and Science of the Carousel
How would you design a carousel? This month, students will draw inspiration by studying our 113-year-old Euclid Beach Park Grand Carousel, learning about various carousel design strategies, and thinking about the role amusement parks have played in American society.
Program Fees
Students: $8 each | Parents: Free | Ages 0-2: Free
Includes full museum admission for the rest of the day, space to eat lunch after the program, and a ride on the Euclid Beach Park Grand Carousel.
The Cleveland History Center is listed as a Qualified Education Service Provider through the Ohio Afterschool Child Enrichment Educational Savings Program, and Homeschool Field Trip admissions, along with WRHS Memberships (Household Level only), may be reimbursable expenses.
