The Western Reserve Historical Society’s Sports Archives is dedicated to preserving the rich heritage of Northeast Ohio’s sports history.

For over a century Cleveland’s contribution to the national sports scene has been of great significance. Beginning with the Cleveland Forest City’s baseball club in 1869 to the World Champion Cleveland Browns of 1964, our city has enjoyed some of the finest moments in sports competition.

The Sports Archives maintains a collection of publications, programs, photographs, journals, audio and DVD recordings, and sports memorabilia dating back to the early 20th century, such as this autographed picture from Lou Groza, a placekicker and offensive tackle who played his entire career for the Cleveland Browns.
