Historic Preservation Carpenter

RESPONSIBILITY: This position is responsible to the Chief Historic Preservation Officer (CPO), WRHS for all building preservation, restoration and rehabilitation.

CLASSIFICATION: This position is classified as part time and non-exempt from overtime compensation.


SUPERVISION: No supervisory responsibility

COORDINATION: Under the guidance of the CHPO, works with WRHS historic sites,
Auxiliaries and volunteers.

DUTIES:
1. Carries out assigned preservation, restoration and rehabilitation projects at WRHS including but not limited to:
a) rough and fine carpentry
b) masonry
c) plaster repair
d) painting
2. Undertakes other specific duties as assigned by CPO.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum of three years training as a carpenter/cabinetmaker plus a minimum of
2 years’ experience in one of the above fields. Some college is desirable.
Must be sensitive to and knowledgeable of historic preservation practices.

REQUIREMENTS:

Must be able to lift minimum of 50 lbs.
Stand for extended periods of time
Perform work in all weather conditions
Willingness to learn
Valid Driver’s license

COMPENSATION: $15.00/hr to $25.00/hr depending upon experience
