Kool-Aid Tie Dye Workshop

Saturday August 21, 12pm-3pm

Learn about historical natural dye techniques, and how to apply the same ideas to creating dye from modern Kool-Aid powder when you dye your own HFV tote bag. Reservations suggested, drop-in event between 11am and 2pm, fun for the entire family.

 

Akron Symphonic Winds Concert

Sunday August 22, 11:30am-12:30pm

Come and enjoy the history of music making in America presented by the Akron Symphonic Winds. Presenting music for the whole family to enjoy, this is a fully narrated concert with a great variety of music sure to delight.

 

Made in Ohio Art & Craft Festival

September 3, 12pm-5pm and September 4 & 5, 10am-5pm

This juried festival features over 170 Ohio artisans, local food, entertainment and all that Hale Farm & Village has to offer.

 

Natural Dye Experience

Saturday Sept. 11,  12pm-3pm

Participants have the opportunity to get hand’s on with every stage of the natural dye process–harvesting materials in our dye garden and around the farm, creating the natural dye baths, and dyeing their own yarn to take home. Reservations Required.

 

Harvest Festival

October 2, 3, 9, 10, 10am-5pm

Celebrate the fall bounty amid the sights, smells and tastes of the Cuyahoga Valley.

Music in the Valley Folk & Wine Festival

July 10 & 11, 10am-5pm

Music in the Valley is a tradition in the Cuyahoga Valley spanning over 4 decades. Listen to local musicians casually playing throughout the living history museum along with stage performances by some of the region’s top artists. Enjoy the music with wines from the regions best wineries along with an eclectic selection of food vendors.

Sow & Grow Pollinator Festival and Plant Sale

June 12 & 13, 10:00am – 5:00pm

In 2021 HFV will continue with your favorite festival demonstrations such as draft horse plowing by Trail Light Farms Drafts but will focus significantly on our friends the pollinators. The festival will offer an opportunity for the community to learn how they can help provide a sustainable habitat for pollinators.

Italian Kitchen Container Garden Workshop | $50 | WRHS members $45

May 20, 6pm-8pm
Join us on Thursday evening May 20 from 6pm-8pm for The Italian Kitchen Container Garden Workshop. This gardening workshop will provide all the necessary tools and equipment for you to create your own container Italian cooking herb garden. Led by the Citizens’ auxiliary group of garden enthusiasts you will learn best planting and care practices and take home some fun summer herb recipes along with your beautiful herb container garden.

Mystery on the Farm
May 15, 12pm-3pm or 5pm-8pm – $30 adults | $25 WRHS members | $20 Youth 17yrs and under

Reservations required
Help Save the Farm, presented by Hale Farm & Village and Noble Art Entertainment, leads guests through a series of vignettes to find clues and solve the mystery of the deed to the farm. Gather your family and friends and be transported to the mid 19th century Western Reserve where historical fiction comes to life. Reservations Required

Mother’s Day Picnic with the Akron Symphony Orchestra | May 9, 10am-3pm

Enjoy a day with mom exploring the natural beauty of the living history museum and Cuyahoga Valley as the season comes into full bloom. A trio form the Akron Symphony Orchestra will entertain guests from 12 – 2pm. Bring your picnic, relax and enjoy time with family!

 

Behind the Ropes: Architecture and Curiosity Tour
April 24, 10am – 12pm – $25 Adults 13 yrs+ | $20 WRHS members | $12 Youth 3 -12 years

Experience Hale Farm & Village as you never have before! Get a full access pass and learn about the history of the museum as only our preservation experts can present. Reservations Required

 

Glassblowing Workshops
Feb. 12, 13, 19, 20, 26,27 & March 5, 6, 26, 27 | 10:30-12:30pm or 2:00-4:00pm

Explore the magic of forming molten glass into a beautiful work of art! This experience is facilitated by Hale Farm’s glassblower; no experience is necessary. Participants will be able to choose to create a glass swirl paperweight or glass flower. You will pick your colors and create your own design. – Reservations Required, please select a date above to reserve your workshop!

Maple Sugar Days & Pancake Breakfast
March 13, 14, 20 & 21, 2021 | 9am-4pm 

Enjoy a pancake breakfast and experience the process of maple sugaring past and present at Hale Farm & Village. Hale Farm has updated this event to follow all Summit County and State Health guidelines. Advance reservations are required! Select a date above to purchase your timed admission tickets.
