Holiday Market on the Farm | Dec. 2
Enjoy a holiday market on the farm–with a historical twist! Meet & Greet with our Hale Farm artisans, including live demos of our textile and ceramic arts throughout the evening. Explore 19th century skills along with the sights and flavors of the holiday season on the farm, all during a unique shopping experience. Limited glassblowing workshops available ($) before and during the market, as well as drop-in mini classes throughout the market hours ($)–including block printing your own holiday cards! (4pm-8pm)
Holiday Market Glassblowing Workshop:
Age Range: 13 and up
Explore the magic of forming molten glass into a beautiful work of art as you enjoy a unique shopping experience at Hale Farm & Village! Purchase an individual glassblowing workshop time from the options below and enjoy both the workshop experience and all of our Holiday Market on the Fun as well! Available Friday, Dec. 2nd only.
Workshop Information: Participants will have the opportunity to work one-on-one with our expert glassblower and create their own pulled and molded pumpkin paperweight, blown glass ornament or a selection of additional available projects, curated by our glassblower. No experience is necessary!
Timed sessions are for one person and one project only, but the participant’s friends or family are welcome to watch. Students should dress in casual, comfortable clothing, suitable for the weather. Long pants and sturdy, closed-toe shoes are required. Finished items will be available for pick-up at the Market Place in the Gatehouse visitor center after cooling time, about one week from the workshop date.
Holiday Lantern Tours | Dec. 3, 9-10, 16-18, 20-23
Timed evening tours. Gatehouse Visitors Center open 5pm-10pm.
This year our holiday experience will explore the history and folklore of a classic treat – gingerbread! Enjoy a candle-lit tour through our historic grounds, and visit Village residents as they prepare for the holiday season in the 1840s. On the journey, you will hear tales of gingerbread made for kings and canal workers, as sweetheart gifts and charity presents. End your evening in our toasty Gatehouse Visitors Center before a roaring fire with your own sweet treat!
