Hale Farm After Dark Series | Third Thursdays, May-Oct. (6-8pm)
Enjoy unique evenings on the Farm during our adult-only workshop & experience series, Hale Farm After Dark! From May through October join us on the third Thursday of the month from 6-8pm for a special programming that connects 19th century history with modern life.
- August 18: Soldier’s Life – A Collections White Glove
Join WRHS curator Eric Rivet and our community partners from the Cummings Center for the History of Psychology as we explore the material lives of 19th and early 20th century soldiers. Handle historic artifacts while our experts discuss the daily experiences of soldiers through the ages–and the emotional and psychological effects that may have lingered long after their duty. Just as these soldiers communicated through notes and letters, guests will also have an opportunity to set quill and pen to paper and draft a note (19th century style) to keep or send! Local libations and snacks will be available for purchase.
$15 member $20 non-member
- September 15: Beerfest!
A classic arts and crafts workshop featuring our master potter–with an adult twist! This slab construction pottery class will guide guests through crafting their very own ceramic beer stein (or extra large mug). A flight of local seasonal brews is included with the workshop price, and additional local brews and bites will be available for purchase during the workshop.
Please note that steins will need to be fired and cooled in the weeks after the class, before they will be available for pickup. Guests will receive behind-the-scenes updates during the firing process and photos of their creations during the stages of drying and firing.
