Honoring Their Memory: July 4, 2019 marks the 125th Anniversary of the dedication of the Cuyahoga County Soldiers’ and Sailors’ Monument, designed and constructed by Architect, Scuptor, and Civil War Veteran Levi T. Scofield to honor more than 9,000 from Cuyahoga County who served in the War of the Rebellion. The story includes a look at Scofield’s amazing body of work including The Soldier’s and Sailors’ Monument and ten other projects that remain standing, some after nearly 150 years, through narrative and contemporary photography.
