Hands on Hale Family – Learning Saturdays
Family learning days on the farm with special activities geared toward early childhood development. Hosted the fourth Saturday of each month, (Jun. – Oct.).
June 24- Oxen Birthday Party & Farmyard Fun
Hours: 10am-4pm
Regular admission, tickets available at the door.
Hands on Hale, our family-learning program series that brings unique learning experiences meant for early learners and family fun, kicks off in June with our annual celebration of Bert & Eddie, the Hale Farm oxen team. Join us for classic birthday-party activities, games, and make & take crafts across the site–with a special heritage farm theme!

July 22- Teddy Bear Tea Party
Hours: 10-4pm
Regular admission, tickets available at the door.
It’s a tea party at Hale Farm & Village! Explore 19th century toys and games and favorite treats across the historic grounds and sites–including an ongoing ‘tea party’ hosted on our Village Green. Picnic baskets, dress-up clothes, and favorite stuffed friends of all shapes and sizes are welcome for the festivities.

Aug 26- Canal Exploration Day
Hours: 10-4pm

Join us for a day of discovering the WHO, WHAT, WHEN, and WHERE of the Ohio-Erie Canal!
Who built it and who benefited? What did the canal do and how? When was the canal era and why did it end? Where did the canal run and cities and towns were built around it?Explore these questions and more through special demonstrations, activities, and storytelling across our historic sites.

Oct 28- Slightly Spooky Storytelling
Hours: 10-4pm
Regular admission, tickets available at the door.
Join us for a slightly-spooky pre-Halloween party of historic proportions!
Costumes encouraged (for all ages), as you Trick or Treat across Hale Farm historic grounds while enjoying some ‘slightly’ spooky storytelling and special storybook-themed activities for the whole family.
