Si Jolie! French Fashion in Cleveland

Discover stunning Parisian chic on the streets of Cleveland. This exhibition showcases Clevelanders as global citizens since the 1870s. History buffs can travel alongside Clevelanders who shopped abroad, nostalgia-seekers can explore the city’s golden age of department stores, and music-lovers will experience the entertainment that served as a setting for these fashions. The exhibition opens Sunday, July 14, 2019 – Bastille Day!

Clevelanders travel the world. Experience their sometimes-harrowing sea voyages. Hear their stories taken from letters, diaries, and photos as they travel to France to sightsee, shop, and work directly with Parisian designers.

Back at home, Clevelanders work with boutiques and department stores to pursue the latest French fashions. Cultural venues such as the Euclid Avenue Opera House, Severance Hall, and Playhouse Square provide the perfect setting to see and be seen, in style.
