About The Program | We…
Collect organizational records of Cleveland and Northeast Ohio’s business and non-profit sectors.
Supply expertise and advice to organizations about preserving their corporate memory via a professionally trained archivist with corporate experience.
Provide access to materials that document the role played by companies and people dedicated to advancing the region’s development.
Promote entrepreneurship and philanthropy in Northeast Ohio.

WRHS has the resources and know-how to provide a safe, secure, environmentally-controlled facility for the long-term storage of paper, photographs, artifacts, and audio-visual media. We’re able to organize, describe, and catalog manuscript collections so the donor organization and researchers know what’s in any given collection and how to find specific materials. Additionally, we offer an online finding aid that provides access to materials from anywhere at any time.

Preserve your organization’s history!  Grow your organization by raising awareness about your success! Help the community by making your story accessible!

Our mission is to inspire people to discover the American experience by exploring the tangible history of northeast Ohio, provide access to organizational records for researchers interested in the role played by the business and non-profit sectors in Cleveland’s history and development, and promote entrepreneurship and philanthropy in Northeast Ohio.

Material collected by the program is utilized in support of the WRHS Youth Entrepreneurship Education Program and the Hundred Year Club.

Let Us Preserve Your History Today!

Consider donating organizational records to expand the information on our region’s rich history and development. The Program’s archivist is also available for consultation or working with your organization to preserve your materials on-site, as was done for the Parker Hannifin Corporation.

“Being the expert on Cleveland and Northeast Ohio history, we looked to the Western Reserve Historical Society to help us put together our corporate archives. The Society provided us with an experienced archivist to take the materials we had previously collected, suggest additional materials for us to look for, and organize and document them so that we could better utilize this valuable resource. ..Overall, our association with the Historical Society has been very cooperative and seamless.”
