Hale Farm & Village
Annual Benefit for Hale Farm & Village education programs
War of 1812 Bicentennial “White Glove”
Saturday, May 19, 2012
Hale Farm & Village is offering a unique benefit event this year to commemorate the War of 1812 Bicentennial in a way that only Hale and Western Reserve Historical Society are able to present: among the artifacts, archives, sights, sounds and tastes of this early 19th-century era.
The highlight of this event is the “White Glove” presentation of wonderful objects from the WRHS collections exclusively hand-selected for the occasion by the WRHS curatorial staff. With white gloves on, enjoy the rare opportunity to personally experience the collection items – to actually touch and feel these artifacts and documents. Curators and historians will be on hand to share the stories behind the items.
Sights and sounds will include War of 1812 re-enactors, cannon demonstrations and period music – in addition to delectable food and libations.
Silent Auction & Raffle will feature Hale Farm & WRHS unique experiences!
We provide the artifacts and white gloves; you bring your curiosity!
