A Proud Tradition: Cleveland Baseball History

The Sports Archives of The Western Reserve Historical Society presents A Proud Tradition: Cleveland Baseball History exhibit, now open in the Norton Gallery of its University Circle headquarters.

A Proud Tradition:  Cleveland Baseball History features rare photographs from the Louis Van Oeyen, Andy Kraffert and Janet Macoska collections. Images in the exhibit cover a wide spectrum of Cleveland baseball from the early 20th century to the glory years at Jacob's Field.  In addition to the photos, there are artifacts on display that highlight significant years of Cleveland Baseball.

In addition to photos, there are artifacts on display that highlight the significant years of Cleveland Baseball, including items from the 1920 World Series Champion Cleveland Indians, the jersey of second baseman Bill Wamby, a collection of season passes spanning six decades of Cleveland baseball, and a section dedicated to all-star trainer Lefty Weisman.  The Jacobs Field era of baseball history in Cleveland is well represented in the baseball exhibit, with items from the personal collections of Mike Hargrove, Charles Nagy and Dave Burba.

A Proud Tradition: Cleveland Baseball History is sponsored by the Cleveland Indians, SportsTime Ohio , Medical Mutual and Skoda Minotti & Co.
