The Fred Glover Hockey Collection

One of the great stars of the American Hockey League, Fred Glover played for and coached the Cleveland Barons through 15 seasons (1953-1968). Glover was league MVP three years in a row and is the AHL’s all time leading scorer. Glover led the Barons to several Calder Cup championships. Playing at the Cleveland Arena, Glover thrilled the many fans with his rugged style of play and his willingness to drop his gloves and fight to protect his players. Just several years ago the new Cleveland Barons honored Fred Glover by retiring his uniform at a ceremony held at Gund Arena.

The Fred Glover Collection consists of numerous trophies and awards presented to him over the course of his career. Included are his MVP trophies, proclamations from the City of Cleveland , player of the year awards, and photographs. Probably the most unique item is a signed Peanuts comic strip by Charles Schulz, which features Glover’s name in the dialogue.
