The Western Reserve Historical Society is pleased to announce it is partnering with Fashion Week Cleveland in creating “Short & Sweet: Two Centuries of American Childhood – Behind the Scenes with
Megan Spagnolo ” lecture to be presented Thursday, May 8 at 2 p.m.
Guests can join Megan Spagnolo, curator of Costumes and Textiles, for a behind-the-scenes view of the creation of Short & Sweet, currently on display in the Chisholm Halle Costume Wing. Ms. Spagnolo will discuss how she developed the concept, created the story line, chose the clothng and artifacts, and put it all together.

Fashion Week Cleveland
Fashion Week Cleveland is a series of fashion shows and style events held annually in
Cleveland, Ohio during the first week of May. Fashion Week Cleveland’s mission is to promote fashion and to inform consumers about the importance and economic contributions of the fashion industry as well as be a catalyst for fashion design, manufacture, education, and retail growth.
Since 2002, FWC has helped introduce the work of local and regional designers. The Cleveland Fashion Show, the keynote event of FWC, also showcases top new designers from across the .
Ohio designers featured in past FWC shows include MoMo Falana (who designed for Sex in the City), Nary Manivong, and Wendy Pepper (of Bravo network's Project Runway).
This year’s FWC events include the Glam Party kick-off, Friday, May 2 at 8 p.m. at La Dolce Vita; Unclothed: A Mixed Media Runway Event, Saturday, May 3 at 8 p.m. at Sammy’s in the Flats; Celebrity Style Cleveland, Sunday, May 4 on board the Nautica Queen at 5:30 p.m.; and the finale, the black-tie Cleveland Fashion Show event on Saturday, May 10 at the Galleria at Erieview, which begins at 8 p.m.
