THE CIRCUS COMES TO TOWN AT WRHS THIS HOLIDAY SEASON
WITH THE BIG TOP BOULEVARD EXHIBIT
CLEVELAND, OH – The Western Reserve Historical Society is
proud to present Big Top Boulevard, a new exhibit that will be featured in the
Reinberger Gallery this holiday season. Big Top Boulevard opens on Friday,
November 28, 2008, and features the 40-foot long display of The Wilson Bros.
Miniature Circus. Big Top Boulevard opens with fanfare, jugglers and magic!
Visitors can enjoy performances of the St. Ignatius Circus Co. from 1:00 to 2:00
p.m.
Visitors can marvel at the vast and wonderful 40’x16’long miniature
circus display’s landscape, complete with scale models of all the Big Top
attractions, including: animals, side shows, trains, crowds, a midway, and more!
In addition to Big Top Boulevard, there will also be hand-operated
trains for kids and families to excite the imagination. This holiday
exhibit at WRHS is the perfect holiday treat for all ages.
WRHS will
bring back a crowd favorite, the St. Ignatius Circus Co. for the following
program:
Memory Lane: Clowning Around Saturday, December 13,
2008 1 p.m. Enjoy family fun for everyone with the St. Ignatius Circus Co.
performers of magic and juggling. This award-winning group of high school
students has been entertaining audiences for 26 years. Learn the art of
juggling, discover information about clowns through the ages, and have your face
painted. This program is free with museum admission.
Admission to
the Museum is $8.50 for adults, $7.50 for seniors, and $5 for children and
students. Members are free. With admission, visitors gain access to
The Crawford Auto-Aviation Museum, The History Museum, The Chisholm Halle
Costume Wing, the Hay-McKinney Mansion and the WRHS Library.
Special
programming and admission rates are offered Wednesday evenings. Admission to the
museum after 5pm is only $5 for all and parking is free on Wednesday
nights. Most programs are free with museum admission.

The Western Reserve Historical Society was
founded in 1867, making it the oldest cultural institution in Northeast Ohio.
With headquarters in University Circle, the renowned arts and culture district
of Cleveland, the Society operates nine separate but related collections at five
historic properties throughout the region. The mission of WRHS is to collect,
preserve and present the history of all the people of Northeast Ohio.
