On October 18th 2008 Hale Farm & Village, a property of the Western Reserve Historical Society celebrated our 50th Anniversary. Hale Farm & Village, Ohio’s premiere living history museum, located in Bath, Ohio kicked off the celebration in the Hale Farm Village with a “Taste of Hale” party, with cannons firing, apple butter making, kettle popcorn, live music and harvest themed food for our guests.

Hale Farm 50th Celebration guests then enjoyed a formal dinner and recognition program, paying tribute to Siegfried Buerling. At the dinner, Siegfried Buerling was the first recipient of the Hale Farm & Village Legacy Award. The Legacy Award has been developed to recognize the efforts of an individual who has left a profound mark on Hale Farm & Village. Siegfried Buerling has done just that with over 45 years of service with Hale Farm & Village and the Western Reserve Historical Society. The dinner menu was a mix of harvest and historic food ways that pleased every taste bud. To top off the evening, guests of the celebration enjoyed a bonfire and hot mulled cider.

Fifty continuous years of historic preservation and presentation has made Hale Farm & Village a staple in the Northeast Ohio community, a place where you can take a walk through history. Thank you to our guests, patrons and donors in making this a truly special evening for Hale Farm & Village.

The Hale Farm & Village 50th Anniversary Celebration was generously sponsored by the Lehner Family Foundation as the presenting sponsor, and supporting sponsors included the Greater Cleveland Automobile Dealers’ Association and the Jean Thomas Lambert Foundation. Donations were also made by, the Cuyahoga Valley National Park, Great Lakes Brewing Company, Ohio Dairyland Cheese, and Devring’s Catering. Catering was provided by Sammy’s.
