Basic Q & A
1. What is the program about? a. You will spend the evening in the year 1863 with our historic role-players, who are portraying the “Martin Family”. They live in the stone house in the fictional village of “Wheatfield”. While there, you will help finish supper preparations, eat, play games and interact with the family. Our role-players will remain in character throughout the evening
2. What are the hours? a. This is a timed program - we ask that all visitors arrive at the visitor center no later than 6:00 p.m. The program will end approximately at 9:00 p.m
3. Where is it held? a. The supper takes place in the Herrick House, located in our historic village. It will take a ten-minute walk down gravel roads to arrive there from the visitor center. Please dress appropriately for the weather
4. Who / How many people will be there? a. We can accommodate up to 12 people an evening b. Due to the mature content of the subject matter, this program is for participants 14 and up c. The Herrick House is not handicapped-accessible d. There are no public restrooms available once we leave the gatehouse
5. What is for supper? a. All of the food served is prepared from historic 19th century recipes b. There will be: i. Rice soup, smothered steak, chicken croquettes, mashed potatoes, green beans, baked tomatoes, and lettuce salad ii. Coffee, tea, and desert iii. Water will be available throughout the night
