This landing, just outside the library, contains a dramatic and artistic arrangement dedicated to the memory of President Garfield, the Civil War General. A handsome oil painting of the General, painted after he returned from the Civil War, has been draped with the American flag and accented with two crossed swords.
The stained glass windows at the top of the stairs display an abstract pattern of textured glass in shades of pink, purple, blue and green.
