The Genealogical Committee invites you to join us for our spring seminar, Genealogy and the Law. The legal context in which our ancestors lived affected their lives and the records they created. Understanding that context will help wring every bit of evidence out of each record you find. In addition to explaining how and why they may have acted as they did, court records often reveal surprising details about our ancestors.
