Irish American Archives Society

The Irish American Archives (IAAS) Society is a 501c3 non-profit organization that supports the Western Reserve Historical Society in its mission to collect and preserve the collections of the Irish American History Archives. The IAAS supports the formation and maintenance of the Irish American archives collection at WRHS, with a special interest in programs that introduce the resources of the collection to scholars and the general public. The Irish American Archives Society was founded in 1994 by the late Thomas F. Campbell, Ph.D., who taught history at Cleveland State University and was a catalyst in the foundation of the CSU College of Urban Studies. The IAAS is governed by a board of community members and produces a newsletter and heritage events, including an annual Walks of Life Award dinner honoring the contributions of Irish Americans to the greater community of northeast Ohio.
