A Downloadable Curriculum-Based Classroom Lesson

WRHS Education is proud to announce Waves of Immigration, Lorain County as the History Center’s first downloadable curriculum-based classroom lesson for teachers.
This series of activities can be used in several formats by classroom teachers for teaching about immigration in Northeast Ohio from the 1880s through the 1950s. The packaged lesson contains lesson plans, additional materials, an answer key, pre-unit classroom preparation activities, post-unit culmination activities, and alignments to the Ohio Social Studies Content Standards.
WRHS also offers a hands-on immigration program called From There to Here, with versions appropriate for grades 3 to 8. From There to Here is offered both onsite in our museum immersion spaces, and as outreach to your classroom. meets content standards for grades 3 to 8 and involves students in playing the role of immigrant families by unpacking artifacts, clothing, documents and photographs from luggage.
